Compared to Cotopaxi's classic Bataan hip pack, the Kapai has a more streamlined design, a padded and contoured back panel, and a wider hip belt. All of which gives it a closer, more technical fit that makes it ideal for active pursuits like trail running or fast-and-light hiking. The three-litre capacity in the main compartment gives you a decent amount of space, plus there are some nice little touches like a padded sleeve for your phone/sunnies and a secure front zip pocket. Like many of Cotopaxi's products, it's also constructed from colourful panels of repurposed remnant nylon. Not only does this keep perfectly good technical fabrics out of landfill, but the mix-and-match nature of the design means no two Kapai hip packs will ever look the same.
